  • {SHRIMAD RAJCHANDRAJI

Shrimad Rajchandraji is the epitome of an intense and incessant pursuit of spirituality.
Shrimadji was born on the auspicious day of Kartik Purnima on 9th November, 1867 in Vavania, Gujarat.
A perfect blend of pure knowledge, selfless devotion, and complete detachment, Shrimadji attained self-realisation at the age of 23.
He spent months in seclusion, absorbed in the ecstasy of the Self. His compassion for the world flowed in the form of Shri Atmasiddhi Shastra, a masterpiece in philosophical literature.
On Chaitra Vad Pancham, 9th April 1901, at the age of 33, Shrimadji left His mortal body in Rajkot.
His preachings have been published in an invaluable volume 'Shrimad Rajchandra', which continues to quench the thirst of true seekers.
Through ashrams, temples, and institutions dedicated to Shrimadji around the world, lakhs of devotees are benefiting from His teachings and progressing on the spiritual path.

  • RELATIONS BETWEEN GANDHIJI & RAYCHANDJI

           According to play{ how Gandhi met Shrimad for the first time after returning from England in 1891. Even after Gandhi moved to South Africa, the meetings still continued not personally but through letters. These letters played a pivotal role in shaping Gandhi’s character. Their honest friendship blossomed and Gandhi proclaimed Shrimad as his spiritual mentor. Shrimad was the one who inherited principles of truth, ahimsa and dharma which were later crystallized as the fundamental tenets of Gandhism. Shrimad left at an early age of 33 and the letters composed by him were then, the only companion of Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi remained indebted to the teachings of his mentor and now he is celebrated as the global messenger of non-violence.}

  • BRIEF SUMMERY OF PLAY IN MY WORDS

I  was SHOCKED as well as i was in wonder after watching "AVDHAN" OF KAVIJI ; how is this possible a person could remember 50 words of different languages with in a one time reading ? my mind was totally blanked  and  i STRONGLY  wishes  to stand and give a big salute to KAVIJI; and then one by one we are  getting  knowledge about  'AVDHAN'; we also became familiar with SATYA/TRUTH -AHINSA/NON VIOLENCE - ETC. PLOT OF play was very well designed, they used flashback technique and once again i was shocked when they use wheels in stage performance because i know that it was not easy to handle or control body while performing on wheels . They used full stage during play , they properly  portrays images of death , love, care, sacrifices, hope;play also gave spiritual touch to it's audience and there are no words with me to express my feelings ; i think i have only one word UNBELIEVABLE  .

  • Over all play was highly techniqued  , we can see in all images hoe they used full stage ; lightning; also there was an awesome  background music ; NARRATOR of whole play was GANDHIJI himself ,  CHARACTER OF  GANDHIJI presented PAST  SCENES as well as CURRENT SCENES of play.

  • HERE IS PICTURE JOURNEY OF PLAY

DR.FAUSTUS BY CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE

DR.FAUSTUS  is a play by Christopher Marlowe, based on the German story, in which a man sells his soul to the devil for power, experience, pleasure and knowledge, and how his "HUBRIS" pulled  him towards his own tragic fall.
 RESPECTED SIR,

Here is my answer of all three questions.

1) The play directed by Matthew Dunster for Globe theatre ends with this scene (see the image of Lucifer). What does it signify?

Ans:  The play directed by Matthew Dunster for Globe theatre ends with the scene of Lucifer with wide wings signifies the victory of LUCIFER/ EVIL on GOD/GOOD. we can say that Lucifer became more power full after taking a soul of Dr. Faustus. IN the last scene of play when time was 11 and Faustus started repenting because 24 years comes to end now, he prey GOD to save him but GOD was helpless to save Faustus, [I think according to karma; famous philosophy of Hinduism]. conflict between GOOD and EVIL in which EVIL wins and above picture is signifies it.

2) Is God present in the play? If yes, where and how? If No, why?

Ans: I think GOD is present in play not physically but in sense of GOOD ANGLE, THE OLD MAN and also in character of GOOD FRIENDS.
  • O, thou hast lost celestial happiness, Pleasures unspeakable, bliss without end Hadst thou affected sweet divinity, Hell or the devil had had no power on thee: Hadst thou kept on that way,… ... And now, poor soul, must thy good angel leave thee: The jaws of hell are open to receive thee . GOOD ANGLE
  • O gentle Faustus, leave this damned art, This magic, that will charm thy soul to hell, And quite bereave thee of salvation! Though thou hast now offended like a man, Do not persever in it like a devil: Yet, yet thou hast an amiable soul, If sin by custom grow not into nature; Then, Faustus, will repentance come too late; Then thou art banish'd from the sight of heaven: No mortal can express the pains of hell. THE OLD MAN
IN above dialogues we can see that good angle and the old man tries to aware DR.FAUSTUS , Also in starting of play FAUSTUS wishes to be DEMI-GOD and also in the end of play DR.FAUSTUS repenting towards THE GOD . also the sign of CROSS is symbol of GOD .Thus GOD is present in play not physically but mentally .

3) What reading and interpretation can be given to this image (see the image of Daedalus and Icarus) with reference to central theme of the play Dr. Faustus?

Ans:  In Greek mythology, Icarus succeeded in flying, with wings made by his father Daedalus, using feathers secured with wax. Ignoring his father's warnings, Icarus chose to fly too close to the sun, melting the wax, and fell into the sea and drowned. At the same way in DR. FAUSTUS Because of the "excelling" nature of his studies and practice, Faustus is, like Icarus in the ancient myth, placed in danger of enantiodromia, the reversal of opposites. The psycho-physical law of enantiodromia proclaims that the steep ascent is inevitably followed by the descent" Here it was a 'HUBRIS' of FAUSTUS which led him towards his tragic fall . Above picture signifies biblical theme of Disobedience ; icarus disobey his fathers warnings in same way FAUSTUS disobey GOD , and thus MYTHOLOGY of ICARUS AND DAEDALUS became central theme of play .
